Hundreds of users create cool musical Smartlists every week and share with their friends and other users. Here is a quick guide to kick start creation of your own Smartlists. To create smartlists, you need to be a registered user on Dhingana.com. If you are not already a registered user, click here to grab a musical invite right away.

Once you are logged in, click on the ‘My SmartLists‘ sub-tab as shown in the figure above. By default, all your smartlists will be displayed here with the most recently created one displayed first.

Click on the ‘New Smartlist’ tab as shown in the figure above to create a new SmartList. You can create a public or a private smartlist, attach a photo to it and add cool description as shown below. If you want to share your smartlist with other users on Dhingana, make sure you keep it ‘public’ as shown below

Smartlist Controls: Once your smartlist is created, you can edit it any time by clicking on the ‘edit’ link as shown by the blue circle below. You can activate your smartlist by clicking on ‘make active’ as shown by the red circle below. To delete a smartlist, click the delete link as shown by the green circle

When a smartlist is activated, that smartlist is visible by default when you visit any of the album, smartlist or search pages. As shown in the figure below, ‘Classic Oldies’ smartlist is currently active on the album page. You can add songs to the currently active smartlist. To activate any of your other smartlists click on the ‘Change’ link as shown by the green circle below.

Once you have created a new Smartlist, you can add songs to it from any of the album, smartlist or search pages. Just click on the ‘+’ icon next to any song or add a set of songs from any album or smartlist as shown in the figure above using pink circles.

Sharing Smartlist as mGreeting: As shown in the figure above using red circles, you can click ‘Share’ link or the icon on any page to share a smartlist or even a single song as an mGreeting with any of your friends.

Tags play an important role for Dhingana’s music community. Dhingana employs two types of tagging systems:

1. User generated tags - added by Dhingana users
2. Dhingana’s singer tags - added by Dhingana’s content management team.

These two tagging systems go hand in hand, thus allowing Dhingana’s community a complete tagging experience. The “singer tags” allows our users access to accurate movie meta data which includes all the singers for each song of a movie. While the “user added tags” allows our users access to songs based on moods, different genres, artists etc.

At present Dhingana has more then 8000+ tags added to thousands of songs. Clicking on any of these tags (or singers) will fire a search for all the songs on Dhingana which have this particular tag (or singer), thus allowing users to easily search songs sung by a particular singer (eg: sonu nigam), songs with actors (eg: Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta), songs which belong to a particular genre (eg: remix), songs with a certain mood (eg: romantic) etc.

So while our content management team continues to add the “singer tags”, let us all join hands to tag our favorite songs as per their moods, genres, actors, actresses etc.

Remember, the more we tag the songs, the easier it is for our music community to find and enjoy their favorite music.

First time in the Indian Online music industry, you can categorize the songs based on your own mood, your own genre, and your own starcast – making your own song searching easier and relevant. Once again, Dhingana team is proud to release a feature, which is unique to Indian Music Community, highly essential and very easy to use — “Tagging – your own categorization!”

To tag a song, go to any albums page, and click on  icon next to any song and enter your own tags for that particular song. Please use tags as genre or mood names (e.g: romantic, sad) or as singer and actor names (e.g: Sonu Nigam, Shah Rukh Khan) which are relevant to that particular song. Using appropriate tags for songs will help the community to listen songs based on relevant category. You can tag any song with multiple tag entries (separated by commas).

You need to be a registered user to tag a song. If you are already a Dhingana user, then please click here to sign in and start tagging. Using Dhingana account, you can explore the world of SmartLists (Dhingana’s approach for creating a list your favorite songs), and tagging at its best.

You can also search the songs based on already added tags using drop down menu in search box. Alternatively clicking on a tag will automatically fire a search for all songs with the same tag. It’s that easy ! Thus, our users can now define their search the way they want by efficiently tagging the songs on Dhingana.
